WASHINGTON – On September 22, 2009, the House Agriculture Committee continued its review of the Treasury Department’s legislative proposals regulating the over-the-counter (OTC) market for derivatives. Chairman Gary Gensler of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Chairman Mary Schapiro of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) testified before the Committee about the Administration’s proposal to regulate OTC products as well as the role of the two agencies in financial market reform legislation.
