When I became Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee in January of this year, I had one primary goal: to ensure that America’s farmers and ranchers have the policies in place that they need to feed, fuel, and clothe the nation while ensuring stability and consistency for farmers, ranchers, consumers, markets, and rural communities. House Agriculture Committee to Feature First-Ever Congressional Hearing Over Internet
WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Agriculture Committee Chairman Bob Smith (R-OR), today announced that beginning Wednesday, September 23 in the Subcommittee on Department Operations, Nutrition, and Foreign Agriculture, all committee and subcommittee hearings will be made available to the public through a live audio feed over the internet.
"For the first time ever, people will be able to hear the Committee's proceedings as they are happening," Smith said. "This is a great step forward to making the government more accessible for all Americans. I'm pleased to be a part of it."
