Washington, D.C. – Today, House Agriculture Committee Chairman K. Michael Conaway (TX-11) and Ranking Member Collin Peterson (MN-7) announced a committee listening session, “The Next Farm Bill, Conversations in the Field” in Cobleskill, New York on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017. The listening session is a continuation of the committee’s efforts to gather input from farmers, ranchers and stakeholders ahead of the upcoming farm bill. Upon announcement, the chairman and ranking member made the following remarks:
“We are working to craft a farm bill that works for all producers, and among the voices we need input from are the producers and stakeholders in the northeastern U.S. I’m looking forward to a productive conversation in New York and encourage those interested to attend,” said Chairman Conaway.
“The committee’s listening sessions have been opportunities for committee members to get feedback and hear directly from our constituents about what they would like to see in the next farm bill. Bringing the committee to New York gives those in the region the chance to share their experiences and add their input to what we have already heard from other areas of the country,” said Ranking Member Peterson. |
