Chairman Conaway Praises President Trump's Nomination of Chris Giancarlo
Washington,
March 14, 2017
Washington, D.C. - President Trump announced today his intent to nominate Chris Giancarlo to serve as chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). House Agriculture Committee Chairman K. Michael Conaway issued the following statement.
"I congratulate Acting Chairman Chris Giancarlo on his nomination to lead the CFTC. I believe the President picked the right person for this job. For the past two years, Chris has traveled the country to meet and learn from agricultural and commercial end-users who rely on risk-management markets to protect their businesses. His travels have given him a deep understanding of who uses our markets and why, and more importantly how overregulation imposes real burdens. He is prepared to lead the CFTC on day one, and I look forward to working with him." |
