Agriculture Committee to Hold a Hearing on Cap & Trade Bill

MEDIA CONTACT: The House Agriculture Committee will hold a public hearing on the Waxman-Markey climate change and energy bill (HR 2454). It is scheduled for Thursday, June 11 at 2 pm in 1300 Longworth House Office Building. "I am pleased that Chairman Peterson has scheduled a hearing on the Waxman-Markey bill. The most important thing we can do for the agriculture community is take the time to allow the legislative process to work, especially when the consequences of our actions will have an enormous impact on our rural constituents. This hearing is the first step in that legislative process and will provide important information and insight for our committee as we prepare for a markup for this bill," said Ranking Member Frank Lucas.
