Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Agriculture Committee’s Biotechnology, Horticulture, and Research Subcommittee held a hearing to explore economic opportunities from local agricultural markets. After the hearing, Republican Leader-Elect Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-15) released the following remarks:

“The 1890 Land-Grant Universities have done a terrific job of leading American agriculture research, extension, and education for 130 years now. These universities are critical to the future of agriculture, which is why we worked hard in the 2018 Farm Bill to deliver the resources they need to continue training and educating the next generation of farmers, ranchers, and agriculture professionals. I look forward to continuing our work with the 1890 Land-Grant Universities as we focus on the future of agriculture.”
