"The President has unveiled a new plan for health care reform. And, it resembles the massive, expensive bill that the Democrats in Congress pushed through the House and the Senate late last year.

"My town hall meetings in Oklahoma have taught me that those who live and work in rural America do not support a 2,000 page bill that puts the government in charge of our health care system under the deceptive banner of reform.

"A recent CNN poll says nearly half of all Americans want Congress to start over on a new health care bill.

"Frankly, the American people deserve a fresh start when it comes to one of the single biggest issues facing our country.

"And, the American people deserve a true bipartisan effort where the best ideas for lowering costs and increasing access to affordable health care are encouraged and realized.

"We cannot fix a fundamentally-flawed 2,000 page bill. But, we can start over and right now that is the best way forward."

The Ag Minute is Ranking Member Lucas' weekly radio address that is released each Tuesday from the House Agriculture Committee Republicans.
