House Agriculture Committee to Feature First-Ever Congressional Hearing Over Internet

House Agriculture Committee Chairman Bob Smith (R-OR), today announced that beginning Wednesday, September 23 in the Subcommittee on Department Operations, Nutrition, and Foreign Agriculture, all committee and subcommittee hearings will be made available to the public through a live audio feed over the internet. "For the first time ever, people will be able to hear the Committee's proceedings as they are happening," Smith said. "This is a great step forward to making the government more accessible for all Americans. I'm pleased to be a part of it." Review of the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) Enhancement Act of 1998 Smith represents Oregon's Second Congressional District — which includes most of eastern, southern, and central Oregon — in the U.S. House of Representatives. ### |
