2018 Farm Bill
In today's #FarmBillFriday, Rep. Scott DesJarlais (TN-4) shares why it is important farmers, ranchers and stakeholders share their input with members so they can make informed policy decisions when crafting the farm bill.
"...it is imperative that we hear from all of our local agricultural people - whether it’s cattlemen, cotton growers, dairy, or poultry. I need their advice and their concerns." At a meeting with the Tennessee Farm Bureau Rep. DesJarlais said [in part]: The current farm bill expires in September of 2018. So, we are working as we speak in the ag committee getting the draft for the 2018 Farm Bill. We hope to possibly complete it by the end of this year. So, people do need to give me their input and reach out, because as we shape and write this it is imperative that we hear from all of our local agricultural people - whether it’s cattlemen, cotton growers, dairy, or poultry. I need their advice and their concerns. CLICK above for full remarks. |
