2018 Farm Bill
In this week's #FarmBillFriday, Rep. Neal Dunn (FL-2) expresses his goals to make the upcoming Farm Bill stronger and more effective for America's farmers, ranchers and consumers.
"Agriculture is a risky business. Every farmer's livelihood is on the line every season." Rep. Dunn said [in part]: As we work on the next Farm Bill, my goals are simple. Let’s get seed cotton back under Title 1, continue a strong peanut program, and provide a dairy program that works. I also want to make sure that the conservation and the reforestation programs used by foresters and ranchers are preserved and strengthened. Finally, we need to get all of this done on time, well before the 2014 Farm Bill expires next year. Agriculture is a risky business. Every farmer's livelihood is on the line every season. If the crop isn’t ready for harvest when the market is right, a farmer may not earn enough to put food on his own table – much less ours. That’s why we need a strong Farm Bill that ensures safe, affordable, and abundant food for American families. CLICK above for full remarks |
