#FARMBILLFRIDAY: Rep. Ted Yoho (FL-03)

In this week's #FarmBillFriday, Rep. Ted Yoho (FL-03) expands on Florida's thriving agricultural economy. From research to specialty crops, the farm bill is critical to ensuring Florida and U.S. farmers and ranchers have the tools they need to remain productive.

"We’ll be working hard to ensure our farmers, our ranchers, and our producers have the ability and tools to produce without the unnecessary, burdensome rules, regulations, and mandates coming out of Washington."

Rep. Yoho said [in part]:
We’re home to a thriving and critical agricultural economy here in north central Florida. Here you’ll find incredible timber production, cattle, watermelon, peanuts, hay, blueberries, and dairy operations and much more. Florida is home to over 360 specialty crops, but beyond the incredible production we have here at home, we are also home to the Sid Martin Biotech Incubator which is the number one incubator in the world.

That’s why I am so passionate about this upcoming farm bill. We’ll be working hard to ensure our farmers, our ranchers, and our producers have the ability and tools to produce without the unnecessary, burdensome rules, regulations, and mandates coming out of Washington, but yet while making the latest research and development a reality.

A lot of people will ask me, “Why do we even need a Farm Bill?” You know, America’s got some of the lowest cost for food in the world, and this all comes from the safety net that’s created by a farm bill that serves all of our farmers.
