Washington, D.C.— Today, House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Glenn 'GT' Thompson announced the Committee's Republican staff for the 117th Congress:
Joshua Maxwell, Policy Director
Maxwellhas served the Committee for nearly two decades, most recently as Senior Professional Staff handling conservation, forestry, energy, and credit, and has worked on the 2008, 2014, and 2018 Farm Bills.
Patricia Straughn, Chief Counsel
Straughn is reassuming the position of Chief Counsel after more than 13 years with the Committee.
Jennifer Tiller, Deputy Staff Director
Having previously served as Senior Professional Staff, Tiller will be returning to the Committee as Deputy Staff Director. She will also continue handling the nutrition and trade portfolios.
Paul Balzano, Senior Professional Staff
Balzano started with the Committee in 2014 and will be returning as Senior Professional Staff, a position he has held since 2019. He will be handling rural development, broadband, and the CFTC portfolios.
John Busovsky, Professional Staff
Busovsky joins the Committee from Rep. Thompson's personal office, where he served as Legislative Director. At the Committee, Busovsky will handle the conservation and forestry portfolios.
Caleb Crosswhite, Senior Counsel
Crosswhitejoins the Committee fromUSDA where he served as Senior Advisor and Counsel to theUnder Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs. He previously served the Committee from 2011-2019.In addition to counsel responsibilities, Caleb will handle the livestock and biotechnology portfolios.
Taylor McCarty, Director of Communications
McCartypreviously served as Communications Director in Mr. Thompson's personal office. Prior to Capitol Hill, McCarty worked in strategic communications in the utilities, energy, and telecommunications fields.
Ricki Schroeder, Legislative Assistant
Schroeder joined the Committee in 2017 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. He will be returning this Congress as Legislative Assistant.
Trevor White, Professional Staff
White will be returning to the Committee as Professional Staff, a position he has held since 2017, to handle commodity, crop insurance, and dairy issues.
Erin Wilson, Director of Member Services and Coalitions
Wilsonpreviously served as Legislative Director for Representative Fred Keller (PA-13). Prior to Mr. Keller's office, Wilson worked at USDA from 2017-2019, most recently as a Policy and Congressional Advisor.
As announced in December, Parish Braden will serve as Republican Staff Director. Braden joined the Committee from the House Committee on Natural Resources where he served as Minority Staff Director during the 116th Congress and the Committee's Deputy Staff Director in the 115th Congress.
