#FARMBILLFRIDAY: House GOP Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-5)

In this week's #FarmBillFriday, House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers highlights priorities important to Washington farmers that are included in the House-passed 2018 Farm Bill, including crop insurance, market access program and agricultural research.

"We’ve put decision-making back in the hands of our farmers so that they can continue to feed the world and provide food security."

Rep. McMorris Rodgers said [in part]:
It’s our farmers here and across Eastern Washington that are Better Off Now because of our work to rein in Obama-era regulations and lift the tax burden. We’ve put decision-making back in the hands of our farmers so that they can continue to feed the world and provide food security. But, we have some more work to do.

That is why sending the 2018 Farm Bill to the president's desk so it becomes law is very important. For me, it contains three priorities for Eastern Washington: crop insurance, market access programs, and agricultural research, like the research done just down the road at Washington State University.

Happy Farm Bill Friday from beautiful Eastern Washington.
